The so-called Bycast finishing process applied by Gidal is a highly specialised treatment that you can request for any type of compatible support.

We have developed a refined technique whereby the thickness of the finish applied is very thin (just a few microns). According to the current legislation (Legislative Decree 9th June 2020 no. 68), a leather finished in this way can be classified as Genuine Leather.

The above mentioned process is available for any type of suitable material. We developed a precise technique in order to keep the finishing thickness as thin as possible. As per current regulations, the leather substrate with our Bycast finishing can be classified as Real Leather. According to Italian and EU law, to be classified as Real Leather, the thickness of the coating must not be more than 0,15 mm.

The finishing that Gidal applies is about 0,10 mm thick, therefore it fully complies with these regulations. Moreover this allows to obtain a fine quality, uniform and resistant leather.
